Citizens Advisory Committee
A critical component of the Urban Ring's public involvement is the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC is made up of representatives from municipalities, neighborhood groups, public agencies, and institutions who have a major interest in the Urban Ring corridor. The CAC was appointed by the Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs to provide essential stakeholder input to the Urban Ring Project.
EOT and the project team meet frequently with the CAC members and work with them as an important component of the decision making process. The CAC in turn works with EOT and the project team in a positive and collaborative manner to gather information, make suggestions and proposals, formulate opinions, and make recommendations that carry significant weight in the project outcome.
The CAC has formed a number of technical subcommittees and working groups that will work with EOT and the project team to compile data and help guide the project team's analysis. These groups make an important contribution to the technical analysis involved in shaping and evaluating project alternatives.
