Public Participation

EOT is committed to a comprehensive and inclusive public participation process for the Urban Ring Phase 2 RDEIR/DEIS. Efficient channeling of public and agency participation is critical as we work to provide information to stakeholders, gather information about local conditions and priorities, hear feedback on proposed alternatives, and develop stakeholder support for a project strategy.

Public participation for the Urban Ring planning process presents unique challenges. The approximately 15-mile project corridor crosses seven municipalities; dozens of neighborhoods, each with its own character and concerns; several major educational and medical institutions; key transportation facilities; and many sensitive environmental areas.  Few transit projects can match the Urban Ring in geographic scope and community diversity.

In order to effectively engage all stakeholders, EOT and the project team are providing range of public involvement forums and tools, including:

  • Frequent meetings of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
  • Major public meetings, to be held in different areas, at key study milestones.
  • Regular briefings for neighborhood councils and other groups throughout the corridor.
  • This project website, which includes project information, updates on meetings and events, and opportunities to ask questions and post comments.
  • Email notification of meetings and publication of new documents. If you would like to receive notification, please sign up.
